November 4, 2010 Stars shine through

There are still no new playoff entrants in the East.  The top 8 have remained the same throught the month of November so far.  The Penguins have slide to the 8 seed while Tampa Bay holds on to the top spot due to having played fewer games than Washington.   In the West, the Dallas Stars have made their first playoff break through and now occupy the 7 seed.  The Nashville Predators are the first team to drop out of the playoff picture. The Kings remain a top the West and the Avalanche stay in the 8 spot.

As of November 4, 2010 the current NHL playoffs would be:
(#) = consecutive days in that exact spot

East

1. Tampa Bay Lightning (4)
8. Pittsburgh Penguins  (1)

2. Philadelphia Flyers (2)
7. New York Rangers (1)

3. Montreal Canadiens (2)
6. Atlanta Thrashers  (2)

4. Washington Capitals (4)
5. Boston Bruins (1)

West

1. Los Angeles Kings  (4)
8. Colorado Avalanche  (2)

2. Detroit Red Wings (1)
7. Dallas Stars (1)

3. Vancouver Canucks  (2)
6. Columbus Blue Jackets  (1)

4. Chicago Blackhawks  (1)
5. St. Louis Blues (1)

Can the Bolts and Kings keep up their top spots for the rest of the week?  Who will be the next new entrant into the playoff picture?
